October has arrived! Happy Fall y’all! Aside from the preparation of Halloween, pumpkin spice lattes, and flannels coming back into style, October is also well known as Breast Cancer Awareness Month. Breast Cancer Awareness Month strives to raise money for a cure for breast cancer through thousands of events held across the globe, recognize survivors, and honor those who have lost their battle with breast cancer.

This upcoming Saturday, October 5th, at Rob Fleming Park the Pink 5K: Sparkle Edition will be held from 7 AM to 1 AM. Bring out ALL your sparkly pink clothes and put some pink glitter on! Whether you’d like to run or walk the Pink 5K you will be making a difference either way! This event will kick off the 2019 Breast Cancer Awareness Month here in The Woodlands. Proceeds will benefit The Breast Cancer Charities of America, who will be celebrating 10 years of service! For more information on the Pink 5K: Sparkle Edition, visit thebreastcancercharities.org.

If you can’t make it to the Pink 5K: Sparkle Edition, then be on the lookout all throughout October for events that benefit breast cancer awareness and research. Many women and their loved ones have been affected by breast cancer. Let’s wear lots of pink and raise awareness for breast cancer so we can soon find a cure!
